Now that Jada's painting has been finished I'll start on Leah. the picture of here for reference is much different. Totally different facial expression and lighting. ( fav.me/d12tpzr ). Both photos remain my favorite photos of them. Leah's light and personality really shines. I hope i'm able to bring that out in my painting..

Life beyond that (on the superficial level) remains unchanging. Get up, get the girls ready for school, clean the house, go get the girls from school, cook dinner. During the weekends it doesn't change much besides taking them to and from school and finding fun activities for them. I hope some change is up and coming.. Sometimes, boring is good. It's better than many other things i could name. I've never liked letting life pass me by, though.. I'd like to get my hands dirty again, i think.

Still painting Jada's face. It's going very slowly, but seeing as this is the first time i've ever done a portrait i'm being very careful. All i have left to do is her hair, which i'm sure will be the most difficult. I'm using this as a way to help myself learn how to draw/paint faces. Next I'll work on Leah's face, of course.

Spring is here for us already. One day it was bellow 40 and the next it was 80. I can't complain..

My girls are doing well, as usual. Leah is already reading 2 grades ahead of her level. (she's my daughter, of course she is.. books are a huge part of my/their life). Jada's personality continues to become more and more complex by the day. From studying them i can say that zodiac readings on personality must be false. They were born on the same day and are completely different. Though they are both very artistic.

Sorry about the generic titles for these journals. Apparently because i've hidden the title in the CSS, i can no longer add a title at all.

My heart goes out to the people of Japan. Such a horrible tragedy. Please remember to donate what you can afford.

I totally didn't make a Valentine CSS. And i haven't really worked on anything at all in the past 2 weeks. It's not a block, just not in that right mood to create.

in other news, i've been enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having. Seems our winter only lasted 2 months.. Although, with the heat comes the bugs. Oh well, can't be perfect i guess.

Another year goes by and i'm turning THIRTY. More scary than i thought it would be but less of a big deal that everyone makes it.

I haven't really been busy with making anything since i've been so busy. but possibly a valentine's CSS to break things up. Making the skins and design helps my creative process. So if any of you would like a custom CSS, note me and i'll see what i can do.

I've finally started drawing with my tablet. example: inspiration: ( fav.me/d14zy1n )

hoping to turn that into a painting (eventually). I think i was also a little ambitious trying to draw/paint a face i know so well. But as a good friend recommended to me: "paint what you love". After several tries, i'm satisfied with the beginning of this endeavor.

I realized that i'm no longer constricted to the photos i could find in stock. the bad thing about that is that i haven't really developed my own drawing/painting style. so trying to decide on how i want to approach something is like trying to decide on a single pair of shoes i want to wear for the rest of my life. a bit daunting, and i'll probably sift through a few styles to see what fits. So that's where i am, adrift in my imagination. Not a horrible state of mind, but maybe a little confusing.
